Luminair 3 received a positive overview in March’s Technical Focus article in Lighting & Sound America magazine. Richard Cadena used Luminair with ELC’s Buddy DMX interface, and in the article he covers some of the new features and revamped user interface in version 3.

Many of you are eager to hear news of what’s next with Luminair. With the release of iOS 7 today, here’s just a little status update. First of all, the existing Luminair apps have been tested and will run on iOS 7, with some minor UI issues here and there. If you encounter any issues on iOS 7, please go ahead and report them to support.
Now for the status update on what’s next. Sometime in the next few weeks, Luminair v2.5 will be released simultaneously for iPad and iPhone as free updates to the existing apps. v2.5 has been under development for some time, and since this past June has been developed under the new iOS 7 SDK in preparation for this Fall release. This is an exciting update for reasons that are yet to be revealed (sorry!), and you’re really going to enjoy the new features. More info on v2.5 will be available before it’s release, so please continue to check our news page, as well as our Twitter and Facebook pages.
5 years ago today on July 24th, 2008, Luminair for iPhone was released on the App Store! The very first lighting control app for iOS, launching just a couple of weeks after the App store first opened!
It’s amazing to see the places Luminair has shown up around the world and the projects it’s being used on 5 years later. This is such a wide range of fields… From Oscar and Emmy winning movies and TV shows, to children’s theater, architecture, weddings and more… Bringing creative lighting control to the masses!
Thanks to everyone for coming along for the ride and making Luminair a success! You’ll be glad to know that there’s some great new things in development for future versions of Luminair. More on that soon, so stay tuned!
Luminair for iPad made a brief cameo on the latest episode of the popular American TV show “Modern Family” last night! The character Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) uses Luminair for iPad for some pretty outrageous home control, including lighting, fireplace, and even a dishwasher!?

ARRI, the world’s largest supplier of motion picture equipment, features some quick clips of Luminair for iPad in action in their showreel for the new L-Series lighting fixtures for Film & TV production.

I’m thrilled to announce that Luminair has been awarded a lighting “Product of the Year” for 2011-2012 by Live Design Magazine This is a huge honor, and we’re super excited to accept this award.
Live Design will have more info in the May issue of the magazine. Awards will be presented during the Broadway Master Classes next month, along with the Excellence In Live Design Awards.
New CoverFlow gestures in the latest Luminair for iPad v2.1.2 update
Hot on the heels of the release of Luminair for iPad v2. Version 2.1 is now available on the App Store, with an updated UI for the Retina Display on the new iPad 3rd generation! And as an added bonus, LCompanion has also been updated with support for Enttec’s inexpensive Open USB DMX interface.
Luminair for iPad v2 is now available on the App Store! v2 is a major new release with support for iCloud, AirPlay, and many other new features for a more seamless iOS experience.

Luminair’s icon is part of the new iPad window display at Apple Retail Stores! So far we’ve heard from users who have seen it in San Francisco, Chicago, even Tokyo. Here’s a picture from the Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
